Gasp! Bishop McGuinness Students Exposed to Drag Queen Quinceanera Video!

We recently obtained a letter via the Ogle Mole Network that Bishop McGuinness High School principal David L. Morton sent to concerned parents after students in Spanish 1 were exposed to a video that contained – gasp – a man in drag celebrating his own special quinceanera.

Yep, that's right. In the year 2021, a time when RuPaul's Drag Race is entering its 20th season on VH1 and Bob Stoops is spotted by Ogle Moles having Sunday Gospel brunch at The Boom, the principal of a Catholic school known for producing its fair share of socially liberal students who like to do good drugs sent a letter to parents explaining the situation, and the steps the school has taken to remedy it.

Here's the first half of the letter:

For what it's worth, I'm a 42-year old man, and based on all the news reports and Oscar-winning films I've seen over the years, I also naturally have questions regarding Catholic teaching and human sexuality. Those questions have nothing to do with drag performers.

Here's the rest of the letter where the principal throws the Spanish 1 teacher – Senora Pena – under the bus:

Few thoughts –

• I like how they sent Father Grover to have an appropriate discussion and answer lingering questions. He is the priest at "Queen of All Saints Church" in Sayre, so that seems like a fabulous choice.

• I feel really bad for Senora Pena. Yeah, she probably should have known better than to show a video of a drag queen in a Catholic private school classroom, but once again, who cares?! Granted, I don't base my worldview on how a powerful order of "celibate" men have interpreted the words in a 2,000-year-old book, but there's nothing wrong with being gay or trans or a drag queen, and there's nothing wrong with watching a video of one in Spanish I. Okay, maybe that's kind of weird, but there's nothing wrong with it. Either way, it seems like the school is overreacting. I'm just happy they didn't go full cancel culture and send Senora Pena packing.

For the hell of it, I googled "drag quinceanera" and stumbled across this video from My Crazy 15. I'm not sure it's the one they watched in the class, but my hunch tells me it probably is. If you're into drag or quinceaneras, you'll probably like it.
